Baux

Julie got home and we had a salad for lunch. It contained tomatoes, artichokes, peppers (which I picked out) and chicken. Julie suggested taking me to a nearby town but we would have to leave soon…we ate quickly and left in a hurry. As soon as I got into the car I realized I forgot my sunglasses and camera – we did not have time for me to go back as we were already late so I just went with it.

Julie dropped me off in a town on the other side of the mountains that we had climbed yesterday at the gate of the village called Baux. It is a medieval looking village located in the mountains. It was beautiful. I got information from the tourist spot, slowly read the plaques and made my way around town. I stopped in all of the stores and then found a museum that was free. It was all about the little ceramic figurines that are popular for the south of France. They are used for nativity scenes and cute, I liked the museum a lot as they had some old ones and funny ones like hunched over old ladies. Anyway I wound up finding so many things that I wanted to buy!! I was happy and decided to get an ice cream and then headed to a museum as I did not take out enough money yesterday to buy everything that I was interested in.

When I got to the ticket booth I realized that the money I took out from the bank yesterday….was in my camera case, which was at home! I wound up sitting in a beautiful little spot overlooking the valley for two hours until Julie got off of work. While I was waiting I decided to see how much money I did have, 0,08. That was not even enough to go to the bathroom! Luckily I was good in that department. I started to have a bad attack of allergies while waiting and took a benedril. I was afraid Julie would see me with my running nose, sneezing, and swollen tearing eyes and decide to turn around! To those of you that know me and have seen me when I have an allergy attack, you know exactly what a mess I look like!

Luckily Julie did not run away, she opened the car door. We headed home to cook some dinner. Patrice was already home though so our job was to make dessert. We made chocolate cake in mini tartlet cups and put some chocolate pieces in the middle. Patrice made a quiche with chicken, onion, and mushrooms. Before we ate Julie went through all of the popular music at the time, I was not a fan of most of what she played for me. I played her a couple of country songs and then it was dinner time. 9 is late for dinner, I have not eaten at that time since I lived with my parents! The food was good though and the company was wonderful.
