My allergies did not seem to improve with the benedril or through the night but I managed to sleep. I am sure I snored, although with nobody in bed with me, it did not matter! I woke up with a major headache and pressure all through my sinuses. I popped another benedrill and then headed down for breakfast. Julie apparently went to bed late, staying up to watch some Gossip Girl episodes. She was rushing around and we left it that I would meet up with her in St. Remy for lunch.
After breakfast I got ready and walked into town. It was only about a 10 minute walk and it was cool out but after walking for a bit I was toasty. There were only two dogs scares on my walk to town, honestly I hear the bark and I start to sweat immediately. I cannot help it they go together bark=sweat. Today was market day, I could not wait! It looked to be big! I walked around looking at all of the bags, foods, and made my way to the bank to pick up some more money. Along the way I tried: fois gras (to make sure I did not like it, I don’t), virgin olive oil, two types of cheese, spicy sausage, black olive confit, anchovy tapande, nougat, and I cannot remember anything else.
Right after I got my money I ran into a guy selling Pitanque balls! I bought two ball sets as I was delighted and could not resist. I mean I do live in New Mexico now, there is lots of flat land and sandy areas…Anyway, when I bought them I was not thinking about how freakin’ heavy it would be. Not just to walk around all day, but on the plane – this will definitely have to be a carry on!! I then picked up a mini watch that I can wear on my belt loop or my book bag in the shape of a bull and finally I headed to find my Cicata that you could put a candle in. After about 5 minutes I realized the one that I found yesterday was in Baux, not St. Remy. I headed towards the church to sit and wait for Julie’s call.
While waiting I met some lady from Colorado. She said how much she loves it there and how young people enjoy it. She told me that if a population has 51% that speaks Spanish then the classes are taught in Spanish! I had never hear of that, but it makes me think about the situation as the rest of the students are stuck. She said it is really only in Denver that it is a problem and that is why many of the students go to private or charter schools. Something to think about for sure.
