St. Marie’s Mer

Ann told me that we would be going to the sea today, I was excited. I packed what I thought I would need and we were off. About four minutes into the drive we turned around; Auriane had not brought anything to do on the beach. About two minutes later Ann turned around again as Auriane changed her mind and decided she did not need anything. Ann has the patience of a saint…I laugh as I am not sure if they know how crazy the next year or two will be. Right now they have a sweet girl with a couple of mood swings; soon it will be a mood swinging crazy chick they thought they knew who has occasional nice moments.

Anyway, we continued on in time to get to the beach with the cloud rolling in. I grabbed my sweatshirt and we continued to walk around. I saw where the harbor was, where all of the fishing boats park, and some naked boys playing in the sand. Not really a site you would see in America. We then headed to get Auriane ice cream, actually it turned out she wanted churros instead. We got 12 mini churros and I enjoyed a couple while watching people climb to the top of a church and kids play in the sea. I touched the water and it was FREEZING! I thought it was supposed to be warm…apparently it is in the summer. How it could get this cold by the beginning of October, I will not know since water takes a long time to heat up and cool down, this should be perfect swimming temperatures….

We enjoyed the beach until Ann could not manage the cold in her shorts and more and we headed home stopping at a couple of sports stores to get Auriane some tennis outfits. They did not have her size at the first place and anything that she liked at the second. We headed home.
