The Baptistry

I got to Pisa and the only maps that I could find were being sold so I skipped those and decided to follow the crowds and people holding maps. I made my way to a bridge and then found an information booth. I headed in and it turned out that the information booth was closed but the lady had maps and gave me just what I needed.

I crossed the Pointe di Mezzo and headed away from the main path. It was really pretty and had a bit of a France feel. I ran into the Scuola Normale Superiore and continued on.

I found my way to the leaning tower and took the normal tourist pictures. Then I headed to the Baptistry. Of course you had to pay so I went to the museum to pick up some tickets. It was only 6 euro for two of the monuments and I was pleased. I headed back to the Baptistry and was a bit bummed out that there was no amazing artwork on the ceiling. It was just a marble round building. I wish that I knew more about the place but I did not and it did not sound like anybody was speaking English. I headed upstairs and waited for the sound demonstration which is supposed to go off every 30 minutes.

I waited for over 30 minutes and then headed downstairs. It must have been so lame that I did not even hear it...I was about to leave when it began. A man sang a note and everyone got quiet. A lady wearing sunglasses came into the center and began to sing notes like monks and you could hear it echo through the entire place. It was pretty powerful.
