Landsberg am Lech

We all met up for breakfast which was a huge buffet. They had cucumbers, pickles, cheese (slices and blocks), lox, cereals, breads, jellies, eggs, bacon, sausage, olives, sliced meats, fresh made liver, juices (hand squeezed orange, blood orange and grapefruit), along with beet and cabbage, sparkling waters, teas, coffees, fruits, oh my! I enjoyed a little bit of a few things, perhaps the largest breakfast I had been offered in a very very long time!

Justin and Robert needed to go pick up some information and I thought I would be left behind. After a couple of minutes I got a phone call that I could come and I went running! I caught them on their way out to a base. They were supposed to pick something up at the gate but nobody was at the gate. We were buzzed in and just stood at the gate. I saw a cool jet

and a cool car drive by while waiting. Finally, somebody came out of the office and told them to come in. They got information on a class that they would be taking and then we were off to a nearby town to explore!

When you do not have a car, you forget how easy it makes things sometimes. Although we got lost, were on roads that were not on the GPS, and stalled out and almost died numerous times due to being in a car with someone who has not driven stick in a while on main roads and off ramps...we made it to the town of Landsberg am Lech.

Now, I have been extremely lucky to be able to do this traveling thing. People are always shocked that I am doing this alone but it has been wonderful. I mean I have traveled quite a bit with Justin and it is perfect because we both are interested in seeing and doing a lot of the same stuff. I have run into many a roommates who I have been fortunate enough to do day explorations with as well. Every now and again though I will meet up with some roommates or people who just are on a totally different page than me. The way that they explore, what they want to see, how they act, etc. When I am with these people I am glad to go back to being solo!

Anyway, that whole paragraph was to fill you in and all to lead you to our visit to Landsberg. I was so excited to be there. It was so cute and had a couple of churches, great streets, and a river! We got out of the car, parked, and stopped at an ice cream shop (about 5 minutes). Justin and Robert enjoyed their snack for about 15 minutes and I got a map of the town.

We began walking and found a church, which we got to explore a bit. It was way bigger than I thought it was going to be, but I have learned to not trust the outside of churches as the insides are always way better than I anticipate.

After the church we walked around some more. Many of the stores (okay almost all) were closed due to it being Sunday. There was a fort in the distance that I wanted to see and Justin mentioned the river (which we would pass on the way to the fort!) but Robert wanted to head back and enjoy the pool. Since I am just kind of hopping along on this leg of the trip I did not say anything, but I think I died a little inside when we headed back to the car less than an hour after we arrived and so little had been seen.

Justin was just as disappointed but it is hard when you are with an older person and they are not into the same stuff that you are. Perhaps I will go back another day via train, otherwise - town you were quaint and I shall miss finding your hidden gems.
