Today was a very take it easy day. I decided not to go to the castle as I thought 32 euro was a lot but then they do not even take you inside. If you want to go inside a castle it was an extra 9 euro! Oh well. I went to the memorial site again in the Jewish Square but of course it is the Jewish New year and so it is closed. I walked around the city and all I can say is that I am glad I am here while I am. Watching a town build up and get ready for such a huge event is wonderful. Stands selling pretzels and beer are popping up EVERYWHERE. The prices of food, postcards, etc are going through the roof. 2,50 – 3 euro would get you a beer here, that will be up to 7 euro on the 18th. There is a kind of energy rushing through and it appears there are lots of tourists arriving early. I have only spoken to one local about Oktoberfest and they seemed to love it. I wonder though if it really makes life difficult for the locals and how they feel about it trying to get to work and go out for a normal meal. It seems like they are into it – buying their lederhosen which as beautiful and madly expensive.
I like how this one has the fake boobs popping out of the top.
