So since I was no longer taking the 11:00 train to Germany and I was taking the 21:00 train, I gained some time. I woke up early and did laundry before I had to return my keys. I did not want to get sweaty as I would have to wear these clothes overnight but it is hard to do that when it gets really warm during the day – I think I did well with it though! I headed south of the hostel this time to Lungarno Pecori Giraldi which was not too amusing, right next to it though was Lungarno del Tempio which was very nice. I listened to the kids playing for a bit and then was going to head to Parco dell’ Albereta but it was too hot and far (don’t look at a map for this, I will get embarrassed). I got a focaccia sandwich and watched the river and bikes go by. I never made it to Parco di Rusciano but I was okay with that too. It was pretty relaxing but I think something big was in the area that I missed (other than the parks). Lots of tour buses were dropping people off but I did not follow them…oh well.
I headed back into the center and went to Gom. The line was short (Monday at 2) and so I got peach and blueberry. The blueberry was AMAZING! It was very sweet after a little bit though and I was done before I had finished. In all honesty, I would not recommend waiting any time for this place as there are way better gelato places everywhere.
Along my travels for the day I stopped by the WC near the Duomo and they have a free video talking about the making of it and everything. It is a bit hard to hear with the echo but if you have some time, I recommend it as it is informative and free.
