We made it to her new hostel with about 20 minutes to spare but nobody answered when we rang the bell. We rang three times and nothing. In 20 minutes they would be out to lunch for 2 hours and she did not want to carry her backpack around. We waited for a couple of minutes and a man buzzed and got into the building, we followed. He went up some stairs, the front door shut, the lights turned off...we were standing in a pitch black entrance way not knowing what to do.
I turned and got to the door and was able to open it for some light. I was so happy that it had a handle and I did not have to be buzzed out (like my last hostel). I cannot imagine how long we would have been in there looking for a buzzer. Anyway, Nicole left her bag with me and walked up many flights up stairs to the hostel. Nobody was there. We decided to kill the time with lunch.
We found the closest restaurant and sat down. We ordered spinach with garlic and cheese and spinach balls. The spinach and garlic was cooked spinach even though it was under salads and we both were thinking fresh. It was delicioso though! The cheese balls were not what we were expecting and so we both had to try it for a bit for it to grow on us. there was a balsamic reduction on the serving plate, which really made the dish.
We decided to get some real pasta and ordered penne with four cheeses. It was so heavy and tasted like some good old fashion mac and cheese. Neither of us could finish it but we left happy little souls.
We headed back to her hostel early and luckily someone was there! We said our goodbyes and I was off.
