I found a hotel for an expensive price, but it was in Munich and affordable for the night so I took it. I have the room to myself and was ready to find it when we got off the train. Everyone was signing and cheers’ing and it seemed like a great time for them.
I walked to my exit and heard what sounded like those white powder bombs that you throw at the ground and they sound like shots. It sound up being one accordion player (who I could not hear) and about four guys in their lederhosen cracking their whips. It was so odd. A couple of people walked thought he whipping circle and danced their way out. A police officer made his way in and got them to stop with the whipping. I left after that.
I found my street without a problem, but it is not in the center of town. I got into the tiny elevator and found my room. I need to use the room key to turn on the lights, which is a cool feature. I got into the room which was small but just what I needed for tonight. I checked out my tonsils as I am pretty sure I have strep throat or something that is really wrong.
I got the internet password and went looking for somewhere to get water. There is a Laundromat across the street but I would not have time to do a load before they close. This is the Arabic part of town and lots of hookah bars and gyros. There were not a lot of people around and the streets were not so well lit, so I turned around and headed back to the hotel.
When I got back I looked up strep throat and I am hoping that it will go away on its own. Apparently the antibiotics only get it to stop 16 hours earlier than it would on its own. I am hoping that is all that it is and that it goes away quickly or that I get to see a doctor in the next couple of days. I think I am going to call it a quiet night and leave it at that.
