So I was going to head to Venice today or tomorrow but looked at the prices and decided it is not worth it for a day trip (thanks anyway Nicole!). I had an early breakfast and headed to the train station looking for tickets to Munich and Siena or Pisa today.
I got there and asked about tickets from Florence to Munich and Munich to Paris. Since they said they only had overnight trains available to Munich, I held off on that and just bought a two way ticket to Pisa. I made it to the the train with minutes to spare.
There was an Italian man in front of me and I wanted to make sure I was on the right train. I asked him but it was a bad connection and I just smiled and said thank you. He asked if I spoke English and when I said yes he said something. I have no idea what. He repeated himself and when I still looked puzzled he asked if I spoke English again. When I said yes you could tell he was like...no you don't!
Anyway, I sat down and two Italian teenage boys sat next to me. I tried to pick up any of what they were saying but got none of it. The seats in front of me looked happy though!
The conductor came around to stamp tickets and he started to mark mine up...I FORGOT TO STAMP IT!! He was so nice about it though and signed it as a stamp and then turned it around and told me to read that I need to stamp it or could get fined...I was so thankful.
The only interesting thing that happened on the train was that a woman came by and put a note on every seat. Usually they say three kids, but she was pregnant so that might explain the two. Anyway, she put the tickets down and then left! I was wondering how she had money for all of the paper and how she made money if she never came back. Thirty minutes later, she returned and the teenage boys were the only ones to giver her money on my cart.
