The Eiffel Tower

i am using a public computer and so the keyboard is different than what i am used to, so you will get this post in lowercase letters only. after dinner the three of us hopped a train and headed over. it was beautiful all lit up. we took some goofy pictures and decided to make a night of it. we could not find a place to get a bottle of wine before we reached the eiffel tower, so we bought some champagne from a guy walking around with that, beer, and waters in a bucket. this champagne was not crazy expensive, about 12euro, but the bottle looked like it had been through hell. this was proven when we went to open it and the cork basically popped off on its own. after paul got a crepe, we were off to get a good spot to see the eiffel tower light up again.

we made our way across a big highway and settled by a fountain. the tower is beautiful and huge. it was nice to see it from far away a) to see it b) to get away from the people! after we saw it light up we decided to stay. paul passed out and kari and i had a good discussion. three french guys sat near us and one of them with major swag began to talk to us. i know more french than kari and i could just make out him saying work. she told him she was a nurse and either he did not understand, believe her, or ask that. finally he went away and we woke paul up. the guy came back and paul told him to go away with a swatting motion of his hands, he did not apprieciate this and was like no - blah blah blah and really serious. paul could have been punched. we decided in 5 minutes when the tower lit up we would leave as he was with two friends and paul was the only guy between them and kari. the swag guy began talking to some other women and then another one of his friends came and we decided to leave before the tower turned off.

it was an exciting night and a wonderful day. minus the guy by the fountain i dont think that it could have gotten any better...oh wait, but it did. we got onto the train and some guy set up a black cloth on the two poles that people hold onto. i thought he was going to put on a cloak, change, i did not know what but then he took out his rat puppet and began to have it sing and dance... that was the ending to my day.
