After lunch I decided to check out the cemetery that Jessica had told me about. I thought that I remembered which train stop it was, but I wound up at a park. I took advantage of the full belly and warm weather and laid out my trusty beach towel and took a nap. Luckily I had my hat to cover my face, as when I awoke my left arm had received a bright red kiss from the sun.
On my way back to the hostel to meet for dinner, I stopped off at a couple of random stops along the way to waste some time and see new places. I ordered a doughnut filled with apple, which was quite good. I ordered it in French and paid with almost no problem. The prices are written three different ways and it confused me, so it wound up going from being a ,20 doughnut to a 1,20 doughnut.
I met up with Kari and Paul and we were off to explore la butte aux chilles which is off of the Corvisart Metro. My friend from the bench yesterday recommended this place to me and I figured I would give it a try. We found it in good time and luckily they were not on vacation. We spent a long time looking at the menu, deciphering what it said, determine what we wanted and how to say it. When I went, I did quite well except that they were out of the crab. I had to think fast! Kari went next and butchered the name of her dish, I tried to help with no luck. The waiter went into the restaurant to get his glasses so we could point to what she wanted. She wound up with a crepe filled with cavier and Paul and I ended up with steak and egg in an crepe. Our steak was ground beef, not the best at all, but definitely not as bad as I thought it would be when looking at it.
