To Toulouse

I cannot believe that my stay here is coming to an end. It definitely had quite a turnaround from my first evening walking on hooker lane. I do not think that I could have asked for a better couple to stay with. I loved getting to know both of them and their way of life, even if it was not at all the traditional French way.

This morning I woke up early to ride the train into Toulouse with Fanny. We left a minute or two late and did our brisk walk to the shuttle stop. A quarter of the way there she said we should hurry as we might be late, seconds later we see the shuttle coming up from behind us. Fanny immediately began running and I followed. She was wearing shoes that were conducive to running, I on the other hand was not. I was falling behind and finally as we approached, she slowed down. It was a nice little exercise for the morning, only not.

We got to the train station, I bought my ticket and we realized, the train was cancelled. Apparently this is quite usual, but it worried me that I would be relying on the trains for the next couple of weeks and if one was late and I missed the next, I would be stuck in some city and not know where to go until the next train out in the morning. (I guess Monte Carlo and Milan aren’t so bad, but I don’t know about Bologna).
