I got situation and emailed a couple of people on their computer, as mine will not connect to wifi. They have a European keyboard though, so much of what I wrote did not look like English. After more than the thirty minutes I promised, I went out to help with the garden.
My job was to weed and hack up the soil, so if it rains the rain will get into the soil and not just run off. I did an excellent job and took care of all four beds. I also took out rocks and clipped the flowers off of the basil. When I first got started, there was this tiny tiny tomato plant and large ones all around. I asked if that was a tomato or a weed and it looked so out of place, I was told it was a tomato. I heard Christian tell Fanny my question and felt bad that he thought it amusing enough to mention to others, but I was impressed that I knew what he said about me.
During my work, Christian was near by finishing one of the beds. We talked about his teaching in France and his sister moving here. The French men coming on so strong (although he said that I cannot assume this with all French men even though I have only been here for 1 week, been hit one thrice and each girl I have spoken to has said the same.) Fanny was arranging her rocks and they looked like beautiful flowers when she was done. She will need to go back and get a couple more finger size rocks though before she can begin cementing them onto the well.
My next job was to pick the tomatoes that had fallen. The ones that were still good would be made into sauce and the rest were to go to the chickens. Also, any other ripe tomatoes should be picked as well. They have about 20 plants all over flowing. Most are cherry tomatoes. They decided to have those as they are very expensive here. They have too many this year and will cut back next year. Fanny bought a canning kit to manage the extra tomatoes although she is unsure how they will turn out when canned. She is already sick of tomatoes.
After two-three hours of work I was told that I was done. I could go swimming but decided to just relax instead.
