The garden is beautiful. Right as I walked in there was a nice size vegetable garden and some statues with flowers. I took pictures and found a little stall selling goodies. I was thinking about a crepe with nutella (I have to get my fill) but decided on a strawberry ice cream cone as it was getting a bit warm in the middle of the day. It was an unfortunate choice as the man who put the soft serve in the cone was older and missed half of the cone. The second I got it, the ice cream was falling over. I quickly walked to the nearest bench and sat to get it adjusted. As I began looking around, I saw I had a most wonderful spot. A large tree behind me, blocking the sun; two large trees to the left and right of me and a flower garden in the middle. There were two horses with a carriage to my right along with a lonely peacock. To my left there was a rooster (and I think) a bunch of chickens. I enjoyed my chapstick tasting cone and then wandered the gardens.
It was 1:30 and I figured I should head onward to the next place on my list today. It was back to Gran Rond. Today the park is FILLED with tourists taking a million pictures. It is as though a tour bus dropped them off, it is crazy. There is such a high number of people that I did not really want to stay for a long time, plus it was getting near 2:30 and I did not want to be late.
I am using a watch that goes by military time and I thought that I was doing well with it until I realized that my bus leaves at 5:00 and not 15:00. Oh well, I got to the station early, purchased two chocolate croissants for Christian and then headed to the cafĂ© for a short bit (okay a long bit). At least this time, I will not be late from the train and catch the bus in the middle of the street like a fool….
