Stacey's Version of Left Bank Tour

After going to sleep late, I decided to wake up early. I got everything together and went to breakfast with Estelle and Paul and then was off to find my free tour of the Left Bank.

The tour began at Notre Dame (the real one) but we did not go in. We walked to the Left Bank and discussed the medieval streets, men having long walks home with the ladies, but his jacket down so she would not step on trash, picking up the jacket and putting it down again until she got home. We discussed how the buildings were made (store on bottom, owners one floor up, richest next, and poorer higher up). We saw the oldest tree in Paris, that survived past some guy who wanted to rebuild Paris and knocked 60% of it down. We passed by places to hear classical music and an outdoor market. I told you, I am no good with the history but that is what I got.

I stopped at a cafe across from the place where Madame Curie is buried and then I was off to check out the cemetery that Jessica told me about yesterday. The only problem was that the stop Buttes Chaumont had no cemetery, just a park. I took a little nap, got a little sunburn on my arm and then headed back. I stopped at Couronnes and got a doughnut with apples and then went back to the hostel area. I took pictures of the Moulin Rouge and walked around and then met up with Kari for dinner and to see the Eiffel Tower.
