The Soccer Game

I hopped a bus with Jeremy and we headed to a beach. We got off at the stop right in front of the David statue.

We found the beach we wanted but we were not allowed in the water, perhaps due to the other day's heavy rain. We walked around and found a beach to sit at. It was very nice, wrinkly boobs, speedos, and all. We sat for a while, went in the water for a while, and when my tummy could take it no more (and I thought I was perhaps burning) we headed back to the hostel.

I met up with my third roommate (Kylie...not Keely). We sat and talked as I did a load of laundry, which I was quite happy about. While waiting for the laundry we walked around the streets and came across the phone store that I spent hours looking for yesterday. I no longer needed the store as I just bought a Skype phone number and will use that to receive calls and do my interview for the kibbutz in Israel.

I showered (felt gross from the beach) and found out that my high hopes of no burns at the beach were incorrect. I missed my lower back and left leg near by bottoms. It was not horrible though and should tan within the next couple of days.

After much discussion and mind changing, Kylie and I decided to try and follow Gabor (the correct pronunciation, incorrect spelling)to the soccer game and try to get tickets. We found our way and the ticket booth. We got two seats and headed down. I was impressed with how easy it had all been.

The game was great. Not packed, but crowded. We got seats in the front row next to the "orange section." We do not know what this section was for, but they were routing for Marseille as well. They reminded me of the college students at a college football game. They were throwing toilet paper rolls to each other and chanting. Interesting to see. When the team was introduced, they threw the rolls to make it all white. Then they kept yelling stuff and the opposite side of the stadium would reply (not always with the same response).

It was a great game, Marseille won 2-0. There were fireworks at the end and then we headed out. Grabbed some street vendor food (I think I got lamb with onion on pita) and a Spite. It was enjoyable and so was the metro ride back to the hostel. Very good night.
