So I woke up at midnight and then again around 7. I showered and got ready as I did not want to spend any more time in this hotel. I was feeling very discouraged since I thought this was supposed to be a beautiful wonderful place and I hate it already. I opened the card that my sister gave to me in times of this and it gave me the hope that I would run into the better part of Toulouse. I was glad that I woke up so early because just as I was getting dressed the people upstairs must have started smoking into the fake outdoors part that is connected to my room. I grabbed my stuff and left.
I skipped the restaurant next to the hotel with free internet as it looked like they were expensive. I found the bus station that I will be taking tomorrow morning to meet my Farm Family. It is about a five minute stroll.
Now it was time for my walking to begin. I wandered over the canal and followed a sign for a cimetiere de terre cabade. I asked the two men at the gate if it was open, as there was a gate to keep cars out and it was down. They said yes and I went in. It was and old cemetery that was packed to the rim with graves. Many were crumbling and caving in. Most of them were from the 1800’s and I saw some people who were just buried around 2003. I found one that looked like it said 1503. I am not sure if that is right but I took a picture. My tummy was grumbling so I knew it was time to move on.
I found my way to the exit and began to continue my walk away from Hotel St. Serevine. I saw a girl on a bike with bread and wanted to follow her but she was too fast. I saw an old man with bread but he was walking home. I found a huge park and decided once I got my baguette I would return here. There was a fountain and looked beautiful. I decided to remember that it was on Rue du jardin and head back soon.
I kept walking and walking…I wanted food so badly and all of these people with their bread were taunting me! Forget the bread, a cafĂ©, anything to get something to eat! I found place after place that were closed. I do not know if it is because it was Sunday, too early, or August but nothing was open. I was breaking down, ready to find a grocery store when I found a teenage girl with her parents. They had an empty basket and I decided to tail them. I followed them for about five minutes and they lead me straight to a street market.
