My French Lunch

For lunch we had leftover (for them) Ratatouille and pasta with salad. I picked fresh cherry tomatoes for the salad and we enjoyed a leisurely lunch. Afterwards we had melon (usually not dessert in France) and cake. The melon rind and the red bell peppers that I picked out of the Ratatouille were fed to the chickens.

Here is the thing about the chickens; they are really cute and apparently very domesticated, but they like pinks and reds. They loved the red bell pepper that they got to eat after lunch, but they also like my pink toenails. This is not the first time that I have had animals nipping at my toes. In Bermuda I went snorkeling and the Clown Fish attacked my toes. I could not swim fast enough. Christian told me not to worry about the chickens pecking at my toes, “they have no teeth, they will not hurt you.” I do not know how much I believe this, as I am worried about the beak and not the teeth!

We listened to some French music while I washed dishes. Of course I could not remember the name of the crazy French chick I downloaded before I came so I was not able to impress them with my fine knowledge of French music. Christian asked if I wanted to listen to Celine Dion, I passed.
