So I set my watch for 5:30, figuring an hour would be enough time to get ready. I wanted to take my time, not forget anything, and be really quiet as to not wake Fanny. With her not having a good night’s sleep the night before and going to bed early, I wanted her to actually get the extra sleep. It began to rain, a nice, steady rain, that lulled me to sleep.
On the dot, my alarm went off at 5:30. I turned it off and went about getting ready. It went off two more times (could not stop it) and then I decided to change the alarm time so when I brushed my teeth there would be no doubt it would not go off. Of course, that did not work this time and mid brush it went off. It is not loud but you can hear it. I immediately rush to the other side of the house to turn it off. It happens again while I am doing my hair and the door creaks when I go to enter the room.
At this time I hear rustling of the covers in Fanny and Christian’s room and feel horrible. I gather up my belongings early and decide to head out now, so it does not happen again. I write a quick note and as I am leaving, the alarm goes off again! This time I dropped a giant water bottle trying to get to it, making even more noise. I put down my bag and realize some spots are wet from last night’s rain. I find a dry spot and put down my bag and then turn off the alarm (again).
I made it to the gate and left at 6:11, it was early for the 6:30 bus, but better early than late and better now then after the alarm rings again. On the way to the stop it rings again…and at the stop. While at the stop, I decided to let it get it’s ringing desires out of the way. It rings exactly 60 times and then stops…for good. At least no one will beat me up on the bus.
