While waiting I began to think about food, what else? Since I ran out, I did not have time to grab any carrot cake or humus for breakfast or lunch. I don’t think I will have enough time to get something to eat before my train. I think the train that I will be on will have food for purchase, my tummy hopes so.
My favorite bus driver was in the seat. Out of the four buses I have taken here, he has driven three and dealt with my bad French, which I am grateful. I get onto the bus, forgetting to pay a euro and then make the correction (I was so happy that I could use up my change, I forgot about the whole euro).
The lady who sat next to me, seemed very nice. She had a bit of a conversation with the driver and then settled into her seat. She smelled like clothes that did not dry all the way, musty and damp. After a couple of minutes the smell disappeared.
About five minutes later, the young woman who got on the bus with me got a phone call. She spoke and hung up. Then, she received another phone all. She sounded shocked and slightly upset. From what I gathered with all of the talk with the damp lady, the bus driver and then the new passenger, is that she mistakenly took her housemate (lover, boyfriend, husband, girlfriend, I don’t know)’s keys. This was a big problem and they were thinking that she could get off of the bus and take the taxi home or that this unknown person could meet up with her via taxi. It was quite an event. She wound up getting off early with a taxi waiting.
The new passenger who tried to help with the situation reeked of perfume. I guess she wanted to smell like she just put it on, when she arrived at work. I wonder how many people sit on public transportation and write about the people all around them. It begins to rain and I feel satisfied that I have my rain jacket and umbrella in easy access.
The rain stopped by the time I reached Toulouse. I had time to get a sandwich and then was off on my train. Everything went well and there were no real details to speak of on the train ride (it was about 4 hours and some parts very pretty).
